Tournee Azie: voorbereidingen in Macau

We had our first free day yesterday here in Macau where we got to explore the city and sights, seeing old historical buildings and ruins as well as sky scraping buildings. At night we went to the world famous hotel and casino The Venetian, just a short bus ride from where we are staying. The building was massive with built in gondolas, sky painted ceilings, and many stores. After dinner everyone met in the casino to try and play the games. Some were very lucky and some not as much, but everyone had fun.

The next morning we went to the Macau Cultural Center, where we will perform, for the first time. The building is beautiful and we spent some time getting lost in the many hallways. The stage is outstanding seating almost 1500 people and we just heard that it is almost sold out! The people in the theater have been very kind to us helping out with anything we need. We did our first run through today, and it was a bit more special for me because some of my family that lives in Asia got to see me dance after 11 years. They were a great first audience and hope that Introdans will return in the future (As do I).

On the walk back to the hotel we decided to take full advantage of the pool for some of the evening to cool down. For dinner we went to our first typical local Chinese food. We tried to eat outside and were not to successful because of the heat of the food and the lack of our chopstick knowledge. We left with our stomachs full of noodles, frogs, and pig ears.

Tomorrow is our first show here and we are all pretty excited to perform for such a large audience. We will keep you posted.
Bye for now,

Alexis Geddes
