It is almost the end of the week, which
means the last days in South Africa. Three shows to go and two days left before
our return. Friday morning we skipped breakfast and
decided to hit town in the afternoon. We (Vivian, Elena, Ruben and Anouk) went
to meet a friend of Vivian’s family. She took us for a lunch at one of the most
prestigious hotels of Cape Town, The Mount Nelson. We had a wonderful lunch there and we met her
young daughter who is about to take her first steps at the Cape Town Ballet
School. For her it was a big pleasure to meet the professional dancers of Introdans, and it was a pleasure for us too.
After this lunch we had a quick visit at
the Green Market to buy some presents and souvenirs for our friends and family.
Days are passing by very quickly in Cape Town and there we were again, excited
to rock the stage of the Baxter Theatre. The show went very well and every time
it is very satisfying to give a piece of ourselves through our art to the South
African audience, that appreciates it a lot.
Of course after such an energetic program
we were all super hungry! So we went to our favorite restaurant close by the
hotel and the man at the door said, as usual,
‘How was the show tonight?’. Time to rest now and prepare ourselves for
the last day!
Saturday, everyone is excited. The last two
shows today! The matinee was a huge success, a lot of students came to watch
us. It seems they liked us a lot, when we went out for a lunch they were
waiting for us and screaming “You are fantastic!”
We went back to the theatre, to prepare
ourselves for the last one!! Suddenly during the show Alberto felt very sick
and Iris took a decision to put Giuseppe and Ruben in his place for Sinfonia India. They did a great job in
such a stressful situation and we were all very proud of them!
The shows are done, now time to have some
fun, before being trapped in a plane for many hours. We went to Mama Africa, a great restaurant with a
live African band. When we heard the life band playing drums and singing all
dancers could not resist to go and dance at the African rhythm. We had a lot of
fun and we were happy, the South African tour was an amazing experience.
Suitcases are packed! Bye bye Cape Town! We
all hope we will come back to this amazing place on the world.
