Its hard to believe that we are already over half of our wonderful tour in South Africa. It has been our 5th day in Cape Town and so far it’s been an amazing experience. Ex Introdans dancer Léa Jauréguy has been living in Cape Town for 2,5 years and we are fortunate enough to have her as our tour guide. On Monday she brought us to the famous vineyards, from Franschhoek all the way down to Stellenbosch, to have some wine-tasting; of course with the most stunning views. At night we got invited to a friend’s house to have a braai, which is a typical South African barbeque. After an amazing meal we all went to bed to get ready for our first show in Cape Town.
When we arrived at the theatre the next day, to do our first run through of the programme, we saw that Mathieu wasn’t doing well and he actually had severe food poisoning. It was decided that he wasn’t able to do the show so he went to the hotel to get some rest. Because we missed one dancer we had to rearrange some parts of the show but even though it was quite last minute the show went well and the reactions of the public were positive.
After the show we got invited for a drink in the foyer of the theatre with some of the audience. We got a chance to meet dancers of Cape Town City Ballet, and it was nice to see their point of view on our show. After this we all went to hotel and had our 'after show get together' with all the dancers and our ballet mistress. Done evaluating the show we all went to our beds to get some rest for the second show on Wednesday.
