5:45 am: We all
meet at the hotel door to go on safari, of course with an epic effort and some
of the dancers have been literally dragged to the car. But the tour is worth
it, we are in Africa and we all want to experience that fully. So there we are,
hoping that our guide Zamine, a sweet and big Zulu man, stops talking to take
advantage and catch up some sleep in the three hours that we have until we
arrive at Hululuwe`s park.
10:00 am: We arrived at the centre of the natural park, Hilltop, the starting point of the safari. Even though we have already seen some wildlife, a group of at least hundred buffalos was cutting the road inside the park. We waited till they passed and stared at them for a long time. Waking up the last sleeping beauties on the bus, now, everybody is ready to jump on the opened jeeps and go find some animals.

1:00 pm: The jeeps
are back on Hilltop, we go out of the cars still fascinated about the tour. We
thank Wilkom, an experienced ranger who took us real close by the animals. We
managed to see three of the big 5, buffalo, rhinoceros and elephant, but the leopard
and the lion didn`t want to make their appearance for us. We also saw lots of
impalas, zebras, monkeys, giraffes. Satisfied we headed back to take a quick
bite when we assisted to a professional robbery performed by a naughty monkey
that stole bread from an old woman, who was quietly eating at the terrace. We
all exploded into hysterics.
4:00 pm: After a
crazy ride, we proceeded the second part of the journey across the dangerous
waters of Isimangaliso, full of crocodiles hippopotamus and snakes. The
wetlands also offer a romantic boat cruise in the late hours of the evening, we
saw the animals and enjoyed a beautiful sunset. If we weren't already, we
finally fell in love with the beauty of this country.
10:00 pm: Back in the hotel we had dinner at the restaurant and shared our impressions of the day, some of the dancers, found the strength to go out with Garreth and a group of boys which we had met the night before. The rest of us went to our rooms, time for a hot shower and an earned rest.
